Studio Owner

Janie Struckman is the owner and founder of 89th Key Music Studio. She graduated from Webster University with a bachelors degree in music with emphasis in piano pedagogy.

She loves kids, piano, teaching and thinks that learning to play music should be an inspiring experience and journey as opposed to a torturous right of passage bestowed upon the children in our society. 89th Key was born of her passion for music and a wish to share this gift with others.

Zoë teaches piano, guitar, ukulele, voice, and music theory here at 89th Key, and has been with us for over a year. She graduated from Missouri Baptist University with a  Bachelor's of Arts in Music, a minor in psychology and a certification for writing. One of her goals in teaching is always to help students love what they're doing, so she tailors each lesson to what the student wants to learn, while still keeping the essentials intact!
Faith is a music education major at Missouri Baptist University (MBU). She is pursuing dual certification in both instrumental and vocal education and is in the middle of earning her degrees. She has been singing for as long as she can remember and has always had a passion for music. Her mom taught her piano lessons as a child, and she is continuing in them at MBU. She has also
played the euphonium since she was in 6th grade. At school, she takes part in two choirs, concert band, and the handbell choir. Her favorite classes are choir and voice lessons. Her dream is to become a high school or college choir director. Faith began working at 89th key in March of 2023. She enjoys teaching her students and sharing her love of music.

Tobi has taken private lessons in each instrument and is currently pursuing arts at Jefferson College. Tobi has been surrounded by music all her life, playing and singing for almost 8 years. She believes everyone is a musician! It is important to Tobi that kids are free to
express themselves through art and takes pride in making the lesson room a safe space for creativity. Whether it's classical, music theater, rock, or pop, Tobi will make sure that her students are taught the basics while also getting the freedom to explore different genres, as well as learn about new ones!
Danny has a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Webster University. He has been teaching for nearly 15 years. His university experience makes him a good teacher for those who want to learn technique and classical theory. But he is also at home teaching both Rock and Folk styles.

Additionally, he teaches beginner piano and drums/percussion. A regular performer around St. Louis, he can help you improve as a performer, as well as learn about the realities and expectations of a working musician. He strives to tailor his lessons to each students particular needs, all while making learning as fun as possible!
