Addie
Piano/Voice/Ukulele/Theory


  Addie  has been teaching at the 89th Key since 2016, and she is currently studying at Webster University for a Bachelor of Arts Music Composition. Addie has 12 years of Choral and performance experience. She teachers piano, voice, ukulele, and music theory. She loves popcorn, and can't wait to teach you as much music as possible!

Drums/Guitar/Piano/Theory
 able to see various teaching methods from all of her teachers, and has incorporated that in to how she teaches here at 89th Key. She was a part of the National Fraternity of Student Musicians for seven years. Her main goal is to convey that music lessons do not have to be boring, and that playing music is fun and enjoyable! Other than teaching at 89th Key, Lauren is pursuing a degree in Biology/Animal Science to work with exotic animals in the future. 
James took over the responsibilities of studio manager in the spring of 2019 and now works for the studio full-time. Feel free to ask him any questions you have and let him know how to help! 

James graduated from Greenville University in 2016 with a BS in Commercial Music. He has over 16 years of performance experience in all types of drum set and percussion, and enjoys teaching students of all ages how fun (and challenging) drums can be. He has also played guitar since he was 16 and took multiple years of theory and piano during his collegiate career.

Studio Owner


    Janie Struckman is the owner and founder of 89th Key Music Studio. She graduated from Webster University with a bachelors degree in music with emphasis in piano pedagogy.
    She loves kids, piano, teaching and thinks that learning to play music should be an inspiring experience and journey as opposed to a torturous right of passage bestowed upon the children in our society. 89th Key was born of her passion for music and a wish to share this gift with others.​

    Joplin, a proud ragtime rabbit, spends countless hours representing the studio and protecting its hardworking students. By day, he's just a casual bunny whose big ears can detect a good tune from a mile away, but by night he hops around the studio, detecting and destroying anything that may distract 89th Key students from practicing. Joplin loves his job, especially when his students reward his efforts with yummy treats!
Lauren has been playing piano since she was six years old and has had  multiple different music teachers while moving around the U.S. and Europe. She has been
Jennifer
Piano/Voice/Theory
    Jennifer has been apart of 89th Key almost since the day we first opened. She was one our very first students and became a wonderful musician right within these walls. She began teaching piano and voice for 89th Key in 2016 and is adored by all of her students. 
    She is a graduate of St. Louis University. 
    Jennifer hopes to continue teaching young students the skills it takes to become a fantastic musician at 89th Key the same way she learned, too!
Austin
Piano/Voice/Theory
    Austin joined the 89th Key staff in 2021. He is an excellent teacher of voice and piano.
    Austin is currently a Vocal Music Education major at Lindenwood University in St. Charles. He has been singing in choirs since the age of 6 and studying voice  since the age of 12. He also many years of piano playing and performance experience. He is studying to become a choir teacher and hopes to teach at the high school level in the future. Outside of music, Austin enjoys traveling and spending time outside in nature! 
Danny
Guitar/Theory
    A graduate of Webster University with both a Bachelors and Masters in Classical Guitar Performance, Danny has played guitar for more than 15 years. He is proficient in multiple styles and disciplines, such as Classical, Rock, Blues and Finger-Picking. He is happy to help you pursue any style you are interested in!
    He has an extremely cute cat named Dandelion (Dandy for short), that some people (himself) consider the cutest cat in the universe, and is currently learning Japanese - よろしくお願いします!He loves teaching and can't wait to help you in musical journey!

    Danny brings multiple years of teaching and guitar education experience to our studio and we are so excited to have him as a teacher!
