89th Key has a unique
variety of teachers, each with their own passion for music and interest in different
genres and styles.

Linzi just completed her masters in Elementary Education at Lindenwood University. Her BS in Music-Voice was completed December 2011 from Bradley University. She has worked for 89th Key since the summer of 2012. Linzi has been playing guitar since she was about 10 years old and has played the piano for several years. She is the "silly" teacher to have here. She loves green apple and grape flavored taffy and slushies, her dog Wilbur, and dresses!
Jordan has been playing piano since she was in diapers (taking lessons from her mom/the owner herself!). She started out by learning from the Alfred series and went on to play a mixture of classical and pop music. Along with teaching piano, she continues to take piano and drum lessons at 89th Key.
Jordan just finished her Freshman year of College as an Art Education major at Webster University. Jordan loves to teach children, beginners, or anyone who doesn’t know how fun piano can be. During her lessons, students can expect to be assigned pieces that improve their technical skills along with a song of their choice just for fun. There is never a dull moment in Jordan’s classroom because there are incentives to do the boring stuff and fun songs to keep the students hooked. If you’re a student looking to learn and have fun at the same time, Jordan is the perfect teacher for you!

My name is Olivia Vaughn. I am currently studying Music Education and Vocal Performance at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I have a lot of knowledge regarding music theory and sight reading techniques. I am currently singing in two groups at UMSL that perform around the St. Louis area. I sing soprano in Vocal Point which is a small a cappella choir and I also sing soprano in University Singers which is a larger choir. Both choirs give free concerts at the Touhill Center every Fall and Spring. Playing piano and singing are my two favorite things to do!
lessons for several years at Mozingo Music, and she now finds the combination of playing her favorite songs on the piano or ukulele while singing along to be a great stress reliever. She loves kids and hopes to be an elementary school teacher one day. Her goal is to make learning music challenging, but fun and with minimal frustration. She's thankful to work at 89th Key, where the atmosphere is so unique. Ultimately, she wants nothing more than for kids to love music as much as she does, and share the happiness it brings with others! :)

Boogie-Woogie Bunny Guard
Studio Owner

Janie Struckman is the owner and founder of 89th Key Piano Studio. She graduated from Webster University with a degree in music, with an emphasis in piano pedagogy.
She loves kids, piano, teaching and thinks that learning to play music should be a great experience and journey as opposed to a torturous right of passage bestowed upon the children in our society. 89th Key was born of passion for music and a wish to share this gift with others.

Joplin, a proud ragtime rabbit, spends countless hours representing the studio and protecting its hardworking students. By day, he's just a casual bunny whose big ears can detect a good tune from a mile away. By night he hops around the studio, detecting and destroying anything that may distract 89th Key students from practicing. Joplin loves his job, especially when his students reward his efforts with yummy treats!
October Desk Manager
Skully is an expert at dueling banjos and comes to 89th Key during October to entertain parents and students with his music!
Maddie, a junior at Francis Howell, has been singing every since she was little. Starting with karaoke, she's worked her way up to Women's Chamber choir at her high school. She took piano
