Sean Andrews has been playing around on the piano for going on 18 years now! He holds a BFA degree in Theater from Milliken University and he has worked around the country as an actor, writer, and composer. His goal is to write musical shows for the New York stage. His favorite composers are Scott Joplin and Frederic Chopin. He loves music for it's storytelling potential, and views each individual song as a story. In his free time, Sean loves to go to movies, try new restaurants, play tennis, and read. Sean loves traveling and would one day like to visit India, Japan, and Antarctica. He loves history, but he hates math. Although he does not have a sweet tooth, Sean does get the occasional craving for ice cream...most notably rocky road! Sean is looking forward to working together with all the teachers and students at the 89th Key Studio to have fun, experience music, and create some great stuff!
89th Key has a unique variety of teachers...each with their own passion for music, interest in different genres and styles of music.
Tom started playing the piano when he was 5 years old. He loves all kinds of music and grew up listening to rock, pop and contemporary. He went to school in Florissant, Missouri and attended three different high schools. He later attended SLCC and earned a degree in Electronic Engineering. He loves to write and record music and learn new things on the piano. He is currently learning to transition to the organ. He is the coordinator and plays in two different church groups on Sundays. Tom loves to learn anything and everything he can about music and is always looking for new licks and tricks to add to his bag! When Tom's not playing or writing music he enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis.
Alyssa has been playing since she was six. Her first piano teacher looked like Cruella Deville and acted like her too! When she decided to move from the corporate world to teach piano she made it a goal to make music fun. Alyssa graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in American Studies and Business, but knew her passion was with kids. In addition to piano, Alyssa also teaches beginning cooking lessons. She loves to cook and eat...and eat. Who Doesn't? Alyssa is a self-declared food critic...piano and eating, that's what she does best!
Emily graduated with a BA in history from Maryville University. Janie saved her from the retail world, where she worked throughout college. Emily enjoys working at 89th Key Piano Studio and meeting new teachers and students. Although she does office and reception work for the studio, Emily is taking piano lessons here and truly loving it! When she is not at work she likes to read and spend time with her family, especially her two little Chihuahuas, Bean and Peanut!
